'Screw It, Let's Do It' | Daily Drawing #263
Just say fuck it. Book the trip, make the phone call, ask the girl out.
After a brief hiatus, I'm resuming my Daily Drawing series. The pause was not intentional. Let me explain.
I live in Philadelphia. Philly is an amazing city, and you can’t beat the location: an hour from the mountains or the beach, a few hours from New York or D.C., and anywhere is reachable via a short drive to I-95, the Turnpike, or the airport.
The problem with Philly? The weather sucks. Especially the Winter. This Winter was especially cruel. Thankfully, I work from my home, so I have no commuting issues. But working from home comes with it’s own costs. One of them is isolation. Combine that with a touch of seasonal affective disorder and you’ve got a big cocktail of crazy. So when the weather finally broke in April, I took full advantage of it. The time I would normally spend at my desk early in the morning or during breaks in the work day were spent outside. Biking, walking my grateful dog, gardening, exploring. Anything to get me out of the house. It was just the mental reset I needed.
It feels good to be back.
'Cut the Sides, Don't Touch the Back!' | Daily Drawing #256
A tribute to the greatest American hairstyle.
The hairstyle has been around forever in one form or another but legend has it the term 'mullet' was coined and popularized by the Beastie Boys in their song "Mullet Head" (Ill Communication):
You're coming off like you're Van Damme
You've got Kenny G, in your Trans Am
You've got names like Billy Ray
Now you sing 'Hip Hop Hooray'
Put your Oakley's, stone wash on
Watching MTV and you watch on
And #1 on the side and don't touch the back
And #6 on the top and don't cut it wack, Jack
Mullet head, don't touch the back
Cut the sides, don't touch the back
