'All That's Needed For Evil To Triumph Is for Good Men To Do Nothing' | Daily Drawing #315
A timely quote.
I heard this one recently, but can't seem to find proper attribution. The common attribution is to Edmund Burke, but that's disputed. There's also several versions of the quote, most of them substituting the word "needed" with the word “necessary".
The message is the same, either way.
Production Notes:
When assembling long-form sentences or quotes, it's helpful to break the words down into readable chunks. I'll do a few loose versions in the sketchbook, then do a larger sketch as a base for the final drawing. In this instance, I wanted loose, easy to read, bold letterforms so I sketched out the letters using a Tombow Dual Brush Pen. I then placed a sheet of Bienfang Graphics 360 Marker Paper over the original sketch and traced the letterforms, adding weight and emphasis to the letters as I went along. The marker paper works well because it's transparent enough to trace through, but not fragile like ordinary tracing paper. It also holds up to heavy inking.
