ABOUT

John is a self-taught graphic designer and has been designing or writing on things his entire life. His design career began as a commercial sign painter, where he learned to love type and lettering. After landing a 'real job' at age 19 at West Coast Video, he was soon promoted to run their art department. Shortly thereafter, he was introduced to the Macintosh computer and life was never quite the same, but he never lost his love for letters.

John remained head of their Creative Services department until 1999. After a brief stint at another 'regular job' he realized his corporate days were over and went out on his own, started his design firm Resolve Media.

John is also the Creative Director at SUMO Heavy Industries, an eCommerce consulting firm based in New York City and Philadelphia. He works with the development team on UI/UX solutions and front-end web design projects for their eCommerce clients, such as TYR Sport, Nicole Miller, Northern Brewer, Sourpuss Clothing, to name a few.

John is also the co-host, editor and producer of SUMO Heavy's The eCommerce Minute podcast, a daily news podcast focusing on the eCommerce, tech and retail sectors.

John has had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of clientele, from large corporations to non-profits.
