(This seemed much funnier when I thought of it in the shower this morning. The Kangaroo doesn't think much of it either.)
Who Is The Yellow King? (True Detective)
'Who is the Yellow King?' | Daily Drawing #96.
We'll just have to wait for the True Detective finale this Sunday to find out.
Tools: Good old pencil and paper. I used a Palamino Blackwing pencil for the lettering. Composite in Photoshop. The Palamino Blackwing pencil is a great writing/drawing instrument. The graphite is dark and smooth and the large eraser is detachable. It even looks good, with a matte black finish, gold lettering and a brass eraser holder. On the downside, they're pricy. I got mine through Art Snacks, which sends a sample box art supplies each month. Otherwise, I'd probably be using a plain old Dixon Ticonderoga.

Father Time Has His Way With Us All (True Detective)
'Father Time Has a Way With Us All' | Daily Drawing #94
From 'True Detective, Season 1, Episode 7: "After You've Gone".
As Cohle and Hart 'catch up' over a beer, Cohle states that he's been basically "Functional...hammered" in his years away from Lousianna. Hart makes a comment on his appearance: "Father Time has his way with us all... Looks like you must have pissed him off."
Tools: Watercolor with brush on paper, composite in Photoshop.

Something Small. Every Day.
'Something Small. Every Day.' | Daily Drawing #79
Inspired by a recent post on Medium by writer/artist Austin Kleon. In the post he talks about breaking your work down into days, to do the work every single day, and not 'break the chain'.
I began doing these daily drawings sometime last year, and admitedly, I was not posting every day. There was always something else to take care of, something else that needed my attention or that I deemed 'more important'. I was not focusing on the days, not focusing on how the small things are part of something larger – the body of work.
Some days it's crap, some days it's pure gold. In the long run, the only way to make more 'gold' is to keep posting the crap.
Keep going.
One day at a time.
