It’s the logo that spawned a million t-shirts and just about as many bad tattoos. The original artwork of the “Tongue and Lips” logo, designed by John Pasche in 1970, was sold recently at auction for the sum of £50,000 ($92,500). The buyer was London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, the world’s greatest museum of art and design.
Mr. Pasche was paid just £50 for the original commission, but was later given royalties when the logo was eventually copyrighted. (He later sold the rights.)
Mr. Pasche sold the logo to fund his 11-year old’s private school education.
